There is no such things as faith in the void. There is no such thing as faith in faith. Faith can only apprehend what God has spoken. And what has our Father said? He has said to us as He said to our father Abraham: “This is my covenant with you and your offspring after you. I will be God to you and your offspring after you in their generations.” Who are we to disagree? As circumcision was a sign of this oath from God in the Old Testament, so now in the new covenant, baptism signifies the same promise. Christ is dead and risen to life, and this for us and our children.
