The wrath of God may not bring about the righteousness of God but this table does. The righteousness of God does not float up in the ether. It is brought about. It was made manifest 2,000 years ago when this bread was broken on Calvary and this wine stained the wooden stake that was driven into the serpent’s skull. There the wrath of God was executed perfectly, proportionally, and according to plan. There God’s wrath hit its target and righteousness blossomed on earth.

Consequently, the righteousness of God flows from that cross to you by the Spirit. You come by the Spirit to eat and drink and there is no other way to come. You must eat believing that Christ is your righteousness. You must drink believing that this cup was filled by the wrath of God but it is mercy to you. This cup was filled with blood poured out. But you taste it as wine. So come in faith and welcome to Jesus Christ.
