I admit that you will find impulsive men in the world. You will find a man who assumes that the order of all successful ventures is fire, aim, ready. But for every one of these wild guns you meet, you will meet no fewer than ten who hesitate to make up their minds. The greater problem among men is not that they are jittery to get going down one road instead of the other, but that they halt at a fork in the road. You always have the prophets insisting that the congregation must choose which god they will serve, and the decision must be made before the sun goes down.

The uncomfortable truth is that waiting is not an option. You do not come upon the split road so much as the split road comes upon you. The citizens in and around Jerusalem had heard of the Son of David. But now He was coming to them on the colt of a donkey, as the prophet predicted. Now He was flipping tables in the temple, claiming that this was His Father’s house. Choose this day whether He is right or wrong. But there is no safety in indecision.
