Nothing can take away the loose shoulders of the Cavalier like the perfectly manufactured plan, the salesman with his 100% guaranteed satisfaction or else your money back. I like a good deal just as much as the next guy. And I do not like a raw one. But you must remember that Israel thought they were getting a raw deal when the LORD brought them out of Egypt: “And the children of Israel said unto them, ‘Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger’” (Exodus 16:3).

Israel thought they were getting a raw deal, and then God gave them water from the Rock and bread from the sky. The guaranteed satisfaction plan ensures you that there will be no steps along the way that are not to your liking. But everywhere you look you find dissatisfied customers who purchased a product that hasn’t pleased them. My point is not that God offers you a better product to purchase. He offers you no product at all. He purchases you. Pharaoh is the one selling leeks and onions. Jehovah Jireh simply says, “Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it” (Psalm 81:10).
