Scripture tells us that “the first Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:45). This last Adam has life in himself. He can quicken you with His life. And it is that life which is prepared for you here. The problem that abounds today is an age-old problem. People attempt to save their lives only to lose them. They attempt to find life apart from Life Himself and they are unsuccessful. The Christian way is paradoxical. If you lose your life, then you will find it. If you die with Christ, then you will truly live.

But you really do have to join Him in His death. Your inner man has to say, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me” (Galatians 2:20). As you take this living bread and eat it, you are saying that Jesus can do whatever He wants with your life. When you take it, you are saying not my will but yours be done. If you eat this bread, submitting your aspirations to His aspirations, you will find that it is good food. So come in faith, and welcome to Jesus Christ.
