God says through the prophet Ezekiel, “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean . . . A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you” (Ezekiel 36:25-26). Baptism is God’s sign that He has washed us from our sins through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. Inculded in that washing is a new heart and new spirit. This new heart is the one that each of us live by. It is the one that looks through this sign by faith and sees the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.
