Baptism is a visible sign of an invisible grace. And upon hearing this, one can begin to wonder what holds the sign and the grace together. The sign says the baptized is saved. But what assurance do you have that the invisible realm won’t run off in another direction. The answer is that the Lord Jesus Christ is your assurance. Christ holds all things together, things visible and invisible, things in heaven and things on earth. He instituted this sign to seal His promise and who are we to disagree? Are we more trustworthy than Him?
