The sacrament of baptism is a visible sign of an invisible grace. The sign is visible and given by God. The grace is invisible and also given by God. The grace is received by faith. But it is not created by faith. God really does give it and we really must receive it by trusting His promise. That promise is that He is our God and we are His people. And this promise is for you and your children to a thousand generations.
